Blockchain Association Announces Agenda and Speakers for Third Annual Policy Summit

Two-Day Summit in Washington to Address Critical Crypto Policy Issues as Industry Enters Pivotal Year

Washington, D.C. (Dec. 9, 2024) – Blockchain Association will host its third annual Policy Summit in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 16-17, 2024. The exclusive members-only event brings together key policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders to discuss the future of crypto policy and regulation.

The Summit convenes at a watershed moment for crypto policy in the United States, as a new administration prepares to take office and the window opens for pro-crypto regulatory policy. This two-day gathering represents the most significant post-election opportunity for substantive dialogue between policymakers and industry leaders working to establish a clear, innovation-friendly framework for digital assets in the United States.

Distinguished speakers include Senators Tim Scott (R-SC) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Representatives Patrick McHenry (R-NC), French Hill (R-AR), Ro Khanna (D-CA), and Wiley Nickel (D-NC). The Summit will feature regulatory perspectives from SEC Commissioners Mark T. Uyeda and Hester Peirce, CFTC Commissioner Summer K. Mersinger, New York State Department of Financial Services Superintendent Adrienne A. Harris, and Sulolit (Raj) Mukherjee, Executive Director, Office of Digital Asset Initiative, Internal Revenue Service.

Summit attendees also include notable industry experts, including J. Christopher Giancarlo, former CFTC Chairman and current General Counsel at Wilkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, along with Shayne Coplan, founder of Polymarket, Michael Mosier, former acting head of FinCEN, and other leading voices from the digital assets ecosystem.

Key sessions include “Presidential Transition: Personnel, Policy, and Outlook for the Next Administration,” “Securities Law and Industry Litigation Outlook,” and “Privacy Tech and the Right to Code.” The Summit will address crucial topics such as market structure principles, tax policy priorities, and the role of states in crypto regulation.
