Blockchain Association Announces Political Action Committee

Fastest-growing crypto trade association follows up recent success with new PAC to support pro-crypto candidates seeking congressional office

Washington, D.C. (Sept. 12, 2022) – Building on record membership growth and sustained successes working with legislators and regulators in Washington to advance support for crypto, Blockchain Association (BA) is proud to announce the launch of a Political Action Committee. Mirroring and amplifying the Association’s core mission, BA PAC will support pro-crypto lawmakers.

Crypto is, by nature, non partisan. To support and advance that idea, BA PAC will support pro-crypto candidates across the political spectrum who use their platforms to promote this transformative technology. Kicking off with the upcoming November midterms, BA has identified and will endorse candidates that acknowledge and support a robust future for crypto networks.

“Crypto has arrived in D.C. and, as an industry, we plan to fortify and expand our presence as lawmakers and regulators continue their engagement on core questions of economic freedom, digital privacy, and financial inclusion. The BA PAC provides the crypto community an opportunity to participate directly in political giving, supporting and growing the number of pro-innovation, pro-consumer lawmakers in our federal government,” said BA Executive Director Kristin Smith.

BA will continue to advocate on behalf of the crypto ecosystem in Washington and forge valuable relationships with key stakeholders, charting a regulatory path for crypto to flourish. Through the BA PAC, the Association intends to augment these efforts by electing leaders who support a commonsense regulatory regime that nurtures crypto innovation and protects consumers.

“Blockchain Association is proud to launch this PAC as a strong signal to lawmakers and stakeholders in the nation’s capital that crypto is here for good. We would like to thank these industry champions for serving on the inaugural BA PAC board,” said BA PAC Director and Chief of Staff Allie Nelson. Therefore, BA is proud to introduce the following board members:
