Blockchain Association: We won't rest until our industry has clarity in the United States
WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 15, 2026) — Blockchain Association CEO Summer Mersinger issued the following statement following today’s cloture vote on the motion to proceed to the Clarity Act:
"This is not the end of our work to provide long-overdue consumer protection provisions and regulatory clarity for America’s digital asset users and entrepreneurs.
Tens of millions of Americans hold digital assets, and American builders still have no clear federal rules, while Europe, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the UAE and Japan have established regulatory frameworks of their own. This technology is being built in America, and America should guide its future.
We will continue to engage with Republicans and Democrats in both chambers. As it stands, a motion to reconsider was entered, which preserves a path for the Senate to revisit the vote. We intend to keep our members mobilized. We will keep making this case in the media. And we will work tirelessly to support and share expertise with the SEC and CFTC as they move forward with important regulatory guidance.
We won't rest until our industry has clarity in the United States."
