Blockchain Association Statement Ahead of Clarity Act Vote

Washington, D.C. (September 14, 2026) — Blockchain Association CEO Summer Mersinger issued the following statement ahead of tomorrow's Senate cloture vote on the Clarity Act:

"Tomorrow, the Senate has the chance to put comprehensive digital asset market structure legislation on a path to becoming law. We urge every senator to vote YES.

Building a bipartisan majority to support complicated legislation requires difficult compromises, and our industry made meaningful concessions to get this framework to the floor. While some of the concessions in the final bill are significant, those compromises reflect the difficult work required to build consensus around major legislation. We’re very grateful to the senators and staff from both parties who dedicated countless hours of constructive debate to find this common ground.

The stakes could not be higher. If America hesitates, the innovation, the jobs, and the next generation of developers driving the growth of this ecosystem will leave. At the same time, Americans deserve clear rules that protect consumers, deter fraud and illicit activity, and give law enforcement the tools it needs to hold bad actors accountable. The Clarity Act would provide those protections while confirming the United States as the best place to build for decades to come.

America built this technology. Tomorrow, the Senate can make sure America leads its future and sets the standards the rest of the world follows.”
