Blockchain Association Member Spotlight – ARK Ecosystem
The ARK Ecosystem launched in 2016 with a philanthropic mission to educate developers about blockchain technology, structured as a cooperative society (SCIC) in France. A decade later, the blockchain has been fully rebuilt for EVM compatibility under its new name, Mainsail, and a network of member companies, including ArdentHQ, the U.S.-based open-source company driving core development which now carries the ecosystem forward.
In 2024, ARK joined the Blockchain Association and shifted its educational focus from developers to the legislators, school board members, and educators shaping the next generation. Under CEO Ray Alvarez, and led on the ground by Blockchain Education Liaison Ryan Haczynski, the Ardent Blockchain Education (ABE) initiative has built relationships with Florida legislators and school districts, partnered with CyberFlorida on teacher webinars, and participated in the BA’s DC fly-in program. In early 2026, Ardent hired a National Board Certified teacher as Curriculum Architect, who has already delivered ABE’s first professional development seminar: The Road to Bitcoin & Beyond: A Brief History of Digital Currencies to Sarasota County high school teachers, with more districts to follow. A full curriculum package aligned to Florida’s Dorothy L. Hukill Financial Literacy Act is targeted for completion this year. Ardent welcomes partnership with fellow BA members who share its mission to bring blockchain into the classroom.
